Ezme Ortiz is a 17 turning 18 year old junior at Ranceburg South. she was going to Ranceburg North until she was expelled in the middle of her junior year for supposedly "plotting to kill" her history teacher. the next year, she was transfered to Ranceburg South and was temporarily separated from her long-time best friend Morgan (Moe).  when she got to RSHS, everybody had known what happened to her at RNHS and was often poked fun at with people calling her a "witch" and a "psycho," and unfortunately for them she didn't care. some time during first semester, a group of people threw red paint all over her car (a gray minivan), shot it with BB guns, spraypainted a black pentagram on the hood and keyed the word "killer" into the side; which she never did anything about because she thought it was "rad" and said she "appreciated thier artistic direction."

in the middle of Ezme's second semester at RSHS, Morgan signed up for a few classes at RSHS and began commuting from the North school so she was able to see Ezme again. of course they were both ecstatic. Although, it created tension between Ezme and her friend from school, Miranda, who Moe is very vocal over that fact that she dislikes. Ezme's friend Mason also dislikes Miranda. there also seems to be a small bit of tension between Moe and Ezme's ex off-and-on girlfriend Luna who also goes to the school, although she doesn't hang around the group too often.

during the time between being expelled and starting the next year at the new school, she began doing odd jobs to save up money and eventually started working at a hot dog stand in Uptown Ranceburg, owned by Moe's uncle; the two girls go back and forth between shifts. in the summer between her two junior years, she started an alternative band (path0gen) after taking up bass guitar. the band is made up of 5 members, Esme on lead bass and vocals, Moe on rhythm guitar and harmonizing vocals, and the other members who change often play lead guitar, rhythm bass and drums. the band normally plays at house shows or at Club 39, a club and bar in Uptown.

Ezme is very into her music and writes all of the songs for her band, designs thier sites and album covers. besides her music, she skateboards and became known by many for being one of the few girls that did, along with Moe. she also enjoys art and considers herself to be an "amateur photographer." she also became popular online, particularly on MyXone, a social network based in Ranceburg. She was a member of the site before it had expanded as were many other residents and probably had such a popular webpage because of what happened at school and people disliking her. but, she used all of her views to her own advantage and used the popularity to increase exposure for her band.

her home life seems to be very secluded as she is mainly in her room on the computer when she isn't out getting into trouble or rehearsing with path0gen. Ezme does not have the same last name as her mother or father, which may suggest she is adopted.
