Ranceburg: Ranceburg is a small (and fictional) city in southern Ohio, loosely based on but not taking the place of Cincinnati, OH. Ranceburg is (fictionally) close enough to Cincinnati that it takes less than an hour to bus there. Ranceburg doesn't have a downtown, but does have an Uptown to take its place. Uptown Ranceburg is very urban and city-like and filled with young people as it is near Ranceburg's community college and all of the clubs and bars.
Club 39: a concert venue and bar located in Uptown Ranceburg. Though it is also a bar, they allow all age shows to be played by local and national acts, but ID very strictly. Ezme's band plays here often.
Bits n' Brews: a cyber cafe located on the way to Uptown, but not actually in it. you can choose to bring a computer with you, or use one there. If you use a computer connected to the cafe, you can order coffees and pastries from the computer and a waitress will bring it to you, if you choose a regular table, you'll be waited on. the cafe also sells mugs, hardware, indie computer games, t-shirts and other merchandise made by locals.
Espress: a cafe located in Uptown Ranceburg, widely occupied by the lesbian crowd. The only catch there is that everything on the menu contains espresso, including the food, which is sometimes genius and sometimes terrible. the cafe has mixed reviews but a very concrete following.
Noize Records: a record shop located close to Bits n' Brews. They sell CD's, concert DVDs, vinyl records and cassett tapes. Above the shop, there is a studio of the same name that doesnt get much business, probably because they only record on tapes, but they are determined to make it relevant.
La Taza Loca: "The Crazy Cup" is a local grill/bar owned by a married in cousin of Luna's. They're known for their live house band and colorful lighting. They're even more well-known for rentable party room that features a "Booze Buffet," which is like a do-it-yourself open bar. the clean up is horrible but the money is worth it.
MyXone and MiniXone: MyXone (based on Myspace, Facebook, etc.) is a social networking site based in Ranceburg, but used all over the country. MiniXone is a microblogging site (like Twitter) that is a shortened version of MyXone. MyXone focuses more on layouts, blogs and messaging, while MiniXone mainly just shows status updates. MyXone has other parts and features, such as XoneTv for videos and XoneCalls (like Skype.)
RMX: RMX stands for "Ranceburg Music Xone" which is the sector of MyXone that specifically revolves around the music scene in the city. though their site covers all genres, their most popular is the Rock and Alternative scene, managed by local celebrity and journalism student Jaqueline "Jaq" Robeson (known as @JaqAltRMX on MyXone.) her old band "Jaq and the Beanstox" was the first band to be featured in the AltRMX blog when it was first started by MyXone's co-owner, after the band went on hiatus, he handed her the torch.
path0gen: Ezme's band, Moe and Luna are also members, and have temps that switch out. Ezme sings lead vocals and plays bass, almost always harmonized by Moe, who was originally a rhythm guitarist but has switched to playing lead because it was easier to teach rhythm to newer members. Luna is their second bassist. their guitar players and drummers come and go. When they don't have other members, Jason Price (former guitarist) fills in on drums and Luna switches from bass to guitar. They've been playing shows since their 3rd band practice.

Ezme cites CKY and Alice in Chains as influences to their sound. They refer to themselves as an "Alternative Metal" band, but others have described them as Nu Metal. The band plays a lot of covers of mainly 80's rock songs.Their most popular song is "Pathogen" (where they decided the band's name) and plan to release a self-titled EP when Moe and Ezme move out, planning to have a release party at their apartment.
